With daylight is at its most scanty this month the impending festive season helps to raise our spirits. Folk are increasingly aware of the senseless waste and plastic contamination that we create on a daily basis, so hopefully this Christmas time will see a more modest rein on proceedings. After all, we don’t really need any more stuff. We need families to be together and celebrate the basic necessities that we are inclined to take for granted. The warmth and shelter of a safe home. The love and camaraderie of friends and family. The nourishing goodness of food on our tables.
Food that is local, in season and grown organically doesn’t get much more nourishing. So, take a look at our list of what you might find in your locality when you are out and about shopping. A heftier list than one would imagine for this time of year. There’s more on offer than brussels sprouts!
